After four years of signing off on large-format print runs, I've learned that the number that matters is repeatability, not dots per inch. A Mutoh UV flatbed can deliver the inkjet printer precision you need for registration marks, braille plates, color-critical layers, and consistent jobs across a full sheet. But only if you set it up right, maintain it honestly, and feed it the materials it was designed for.

Let me give you my background so you know where this opinion comes from. I'm a quality and compliance manager at a commercial sign and print company. I review every production run before it ships—roughly 200+ unique jobs a year, from one-off prototype signs to long runs of standard signage. Also, not every rigid material prints well without pre-treatment. Polypropylene and some low-surface-energy plastics will reject UV ink no matter how good the printer is. A Mutoh can print on a lot of materials, but it won't print well on everything. Does that make it less impressive? No. It makes it a real tool, not a magic box.
